FEL Motorsports Starts Fund for Brands Hatch Marshal

Over the weekend, FEL Motorsports was at Calabogie Motorsports Park with both SCCC presented by Michelin, and ERCC presented by Michelin series. During the Saturday morning drivers meetings, all teams, drivers, and crew dropped their heads in a moment of silence for the tragic incident that occurred at Brands Hatch Circuit in the United Kingdom on Saturday, July 31st.

Robert Foote, a volunteer track marshal was killed in a racing incident a the Kent racing track that Saturday afternoon and the news has shaken the motorsports community.

Chris Bye announced during the drivers meetings, that FEL Motorsports would start a donation fund for the family of Robert Foote, and announced that they would start the fund by donating $2,500 CAD. Braidan Tire has stepped up to offer $500 to the fund. Other teams in the series have also reached out to contribute.

“FEL Motorsports employs a large team of over 20 staff, but is always grateful for the hard work of all of the other flaggers, marshals, control staff, etc. that make the race weekends run. Without them, the sport would not exist,” said Jessica Benevides, Series Manager. “Hearing of an incident such as this one is devastating. To the track staff and volunteers; Thank You. We are thinking of you. We appreciate you.”
