FEL Motorsports announces acquisition of TCR licence for 2022
FEL Motorsports is thrilled to announce the signing of a three-year deal with World Sporting Consulting (WSC) to acquire a TCR licence in Canada, from 2022 to 2024. The agreement was made with the help and support of IMSA.
The TCR cars will share the track with GT4s in the Sports Car Championship Canada presented by Michelin (SCCC), racing twelve races over six weekends. The race format will stay consistent with 2021 – two 40-minute sprint races, one on Saturday and one on Sunday.
FEL Motorsports President, Chris Bye, said, “We could not be more excited to join the global TCR family. This is something we have been working on with the WSC and IMSA for a while and we are extremely happy and grateful that they have accepted us into the family.” He went on, “We want to thank Marcello Lotti from WSC, John Doonan from IMSA, and Nunzia Corvino from TCR and each of their teams for making this happen. I also thank all Canadian TCR team owners and drivers for their trust and support.” Bye finished with saying, “We believe that growth and momentum will come from our strong prizing and prize money package which gives back to the teams. We expect to have 13 to 15 TCR cars run with us this year.”
