Bob Stiver joins FEL Motorsports as Driver Steward
Experienced officiating team expands for both FEL Motorsports series
ST. CATHARINES, ON (November 17, 2023) – With more events and larger grids in 2024, FEL Motorsports is expanding the Sports Car Championship Canada (SCCC) and Radical Cup Canada (RCC) presented by Michelin officiating team with the addition of long-time Canadian race official, Bob Stiver.
The team of directors, currently comprised of Race Director, Rolf von Engelbrechten, and Sporting Directors, Robin Buck, Peter Lockhart and Martin Roy, features years of professional racing experience. Bob Stiver, who has served as a Race Director within Canada for the last 15+ years, will be rounding out the team in the Driver Steward role. This role will see Bob working alongside the FEL Motorsports directors to communicate infractions and penalties to both SCCC and RCC competitors.
FEL Motorsports has communicated and stayed on course in its mission of adding value to the Canadian motorsport community. The two series it operates are intended to act as a national ladder system for up and coming talent to experience a professional atmosphere within Canada before pursuing global opportunities and career paths. Bringing on Bob Stiver aligns with this mission by enforcing on- track etiquette through defined regulations while emphasizing education.
“We have worked extremely hard putting together a group of qualified and experienced officials at FEL Motorsports,” said FEL President, Chris Bye. “Officiating at this level of motorsports is extremely difficult and to have the years of top level professional racing experience that our team does is essential in the growth of both the Sports Car Championship Canada and the Radical Cup Canada. As a group, one would be hard pressed to find a more qualified officiating group in Canadian motorsports and that is something that we are proud of,” Bye continued. “Adding Bob to the already impressive group of officials is something all of us at FEL Motorsports are excited about. I know he will be great addition”.
FEL Motorsports will release the 2024 SCCC and RCC schedules in the coming weeks.
