Emzone Radical Cup Canada presented by Michelin Hits the Streets of Trois-Rivières for Round 3
The championship’s first street race of 2026 runs August 7-9 at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières
TROIS-RIVIÈRES, QC (August 6, 2026) — The Emzone Radical Cup Canada presented by Michelin heads to the streets of Trois-Rivières this weekend for Round 3 of the 2026 season. The Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières, running August 7-9, has hosted racing through the city’s streets since 1967. It also opens a stretch of back-to-back street races for the championship, with the inaugural Ontario Honda Dealers Indy at Markham following one week later.
The series arrives on a wave of momentum from Round 2 at Calabogie Motorsports Park, where 18-year-old Timothé Pernod won Race 1 in wet conditions in his first series start, Brady Clapham claimed Race 2 for his second victory of the season, and Jesse Lambert raced to a podium finish.
Few in the paddock know street racing better than Robert Burgess of Radical Canada. A competitor for 30 years, Burgess has been on the grid for every season since the series launched in 2021, and his resume includes starts at the Toronto Indy and Trois-Rivières. “The real challenge with a street circuit is walls everywhere, so there’s no runoff,” said Burgess. “It really comes down to not making any mistakes. You want to be in a position to capitalize on other people’s mistakes, rather than being the one making them.”
Burgess has watched the series grow from roughly five cars in its first season to a field of about 20 today. This year’s arrival of TAG One Motorsport and its six-car program, headlined by Canadian racing veteran Alex Tagliani, has pushed the level even higher. “TAG One has been an amazing addition to the championship, and it has raised the bar in terms of the competition level for everyone,” said Burgess. “Better drivers, better teams. That’s what helps bring more people in.”
Round 3 marks the halfway point of the five-round 2026 championship, which features a $100,000 prize pool. The official entry list counts 21 drivers across the Pro and Masters classes. The field hits the streets for practice on Friday at 2:05 pm and qualifying on Saturday at 1:40 pm, before Race 1 on Saturday at 3:45 pm and Race 2 on Sunday at 11:10 am.
