Emzone Radical Cup Canada presented by Michelin Hits the Streets of Trois-Rivières for Round 3
The championship’s first street race of 2026 runs August 7-9 at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières
TROIS-RIVIÈRES, QC (August 7, 2026) — The Emzone Radical Cup Canada presented by Michelin reaches the halfway point of its five-round season this weekend with its first street race of 2026, a pair of races through the fairgrounds and public roads of Trois-Rivières. The Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières has hosted racing since 1967, and it opens a stretch of back-to-back street events, with the inaugural Ontario Honda Dealers Indy at Markham following on August 14-16.
21 drivers are entered across the Pro and Masters classes. Practice opens Friday at 2:05 pm and qualifying runs Saturday at 1:40 pm, before Race 1 on Saturday at 3:45 pm and Race 2 on Sunday at 11:10 am. Every session streams free on the FEL Motorsports YouTube channel.
Brady Clapham arrives having taken 145 of a possible 160 points, a return that puts him 47 clear of Alex Tagliani. The number worth watching belongs to Timothé Pernod, fifth on 75 points having started only one of the two rounds: the 18-year-old won Race 1 at Calabogie in the wet on his series debut, then finished second to Clapham the following day. Behind them, rookies Antoine Sénéchal and Parker Gill sit third and fourth, both arriving through F1600, the junior open-wheel category FEL Motorsports now connects to the series through its F1600 Pathway Scholarship Award. In Masters, Robert Burgess leads by 44 from Cédric Ohayon.
A street circuit resets that arithmetic. Trois-Rivières packs 11 turns into 2.448 km with no runoff anywhere, and turn 3 sends the field through Porte Duplessis, a narrow concrete gateway in the fairgrounds wall. Few in the paddock know the place better than Burgess, a competitor for 30 years and on the grid every season since the series launched in 2021, with starts at both the Toronto Indy and Trois-Rivières. “The real challenge with a street circuit is walls everywhere, so there’s no runoff,” said Burgess. “It really comes down to not making any mistakes. You want to be in a position to capitalize on other people’s mistakes, rather than being the one making them.”
Burgess has watched the field grow from roughly five cars in 2021 to about 20 today, and this season’s arrival of TAG One Motorsport with a six-car program headlined by Tagliani has raised it again. “TAG One has been an amazing addition to the championship, and it has raised the bar in terms of the competition level for everyone,” said Burgess. “Better drivers, better teams. That’s what helps bring more people in.”
